OUR MISSION
As Y's Men International is a world-wide fellowship of persons of all faiths working constructively together, based on the teachings of Jesus Christ, in partnership with and supporting the YMCA, its mission is to strive through active service to develop, encourage and provide leadership to build a betterworld for all humankind.

Y’s Men’s Club of Sharjah is the second Y’s men club in the UAE region.

It was sponsored by the Y’s Men’s Club of Kozhenchery, Kerala, India and was inaugurated on 28th April 2006 with 17 members.

Ym. V. C Roy was the first president and it was chartered on 1st March 2006.

We have an active Y’s menette’s and Y’s Ling’s club registered in October 2006.

ORIGIN of SHARJAH Y’s CLUB
Mr. Cherian Thomas took the initiative to start a Y’s Men Club in Sharjah.

Mr. Cherian Thomas contacted like minded people in Sharjah and a meeting was held at the residence of Mr. Jacob C Jacob. This marked the beginning of Y’s Men’s Club in Sharjah and during this meeting, unanimously elected Mr. V.C Roy as the President and Mr.Mathews Cherian as Secretary for the year 2006-2007.

The club was formed and nurtured by Y’smen Prof. Jacob Cherian the immediate past district governor of district X.

How started- first meeting
The inaugural meeting of the club was conducted at the Ajman Kempinski Hotel, on 28th April 2006. This meeting was blessed by the presence of Regional Director Ym V.A.A Shukur, Area President Ym M.V. Gopalan and District Governor Ym K.P. Varghese.

The club inagurated with 17 members, but by 2007 we had 21 active members.

Club Chartrered on 1st March 2006 under the South West India Region and our parent club being the Y’s Men’s Club of Kozhencheri, Kerala, India.

The main objectives of the organization are

• To do service to the needy, Downtrodden and other worthy organizations.
• To develop leaders and provide them with leadership training.
• To cultivate good fellowship among the members and their families.

OUR EMBLEM
The Y's Men emblem consists first of a red triangle, the symbol long employed by the YMCA to denote its three-fold programme of spirit, mind and body building.

In the upper border of the triangle appears the word INTERNATIONAL, indicative of the scope of our purposes.

Within the triangle a golden star sheds rays of light on the name, "Y'S MEN'S CLUB". This star symbolizes the Star of Bethlehem. Just as that star served as a guide to the Wise Men of the East, so shall this golden star, which also represents the ideals of our club, serve as a constant guide to the Y's Men of today and lead them to a true realization of the nobility of unselfish service.
